Contributing
The Crisis Center of Comal County uses volunteers in the provision of services to the community. Volunteer duties include but is not limited to administrative duties, childcare, lawn care, donations management and crisis advocacy. A Board of Directors composed of volunteers from the community conducts agency oversight. If you would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities please contact the Volunteer Coordinator or complete the Volunteer application found on this web sight and mail it to the Center to the attention of the Volunteer Coordinator.
The Crisis Center of Comal County accepts donations of clean usable clothing and household items. Items may be dropped off at 1547 Common Street, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you need to drop off on the weekend please call the agency administrative number for directions. Unfortunately the Center cannot accept king size beds, water beds or fold out couches. Please contact the agency and make arrangements if you would like to deliver food or other perishable items. All donations made to the Center are tax deductible. Agency staff will provide you with a written receipt upon request.
The agency collects deactivated cell phones. These cell phones are given to clients to be used to call 911. Surplus cell phones are collected and recycled. The agency receives a small payment for recycled cell phones. All funds raised are put back into the program. If donating a used cell phone please make sure your phone is unlocked and all personal information including contacts is deleted. You may also drop used cell phones off at area cell phone retailers. Look for the large box labeled Crisis Center of Comal County.
The agency accepts cash donations. All donations are put back into the program and benefit the local community. A receipt and acknowledgment letter will be sent to all donors. The agency also accepts memorial donations. Acknowledgements for these donations will be sent to both the donor and the honoree. Monetary donations may be made through the mail, in person or through pay pal.
